5 Things: Anastasia Casey of The Identité Collective
Posted August 04, 2018 by Christina
I am so excited to start up our 5 Things series once again with a wonderfully inspiring creative whom I have just discovered via Instagram. has an amazing sense of style and works with designers and other creatives to develop their brands, along with their online and social media presence. Her work is inspiring and so so fun! I have fallen in love with her style and overall positive vibe! I hope you enjoy our little visit with her.
What did you dream about being when you grew up?
Editor at a lifestyle magazine. I always thought I’d be curating content in some way. When print journalism slowed down, I ended up going to school for advertising with a minor in graphic design.
Other professions popular with Anastasia as a child include: marine biologist, interior designer, or event planner
Where do you find inspiration?
Physical spaces. Interior design is a big part of my inspiration because I think the digital world lacks the textures and magic that natural light brings to a space. My job is to bring those details online.
Travel. Since opening IDCO, I’ve made travel a big priority in my business and in my personal life. This year alone I’ll have been on 5 international trips. This fall I’ll even be making it a priority for my team – we’ll be living + working abroad for the entire month of October in Barcelona.
Gardening. I’m not sure if this is where I fuel my inspiration or my vitality, but spending time doing yardwork brings me new passion and focus for the work week.
Do you work from home? Office? Studio?
Since buying our first home in November, I’ve moved my studio into the house. We had the extra space and the lighting is amazing. Before that, I had a private office in a shared co-working building.
Working from home has helped me take so much more pride in my physical space. I tidy up every day, rearrange artwork, and cut fresh branches to bring inside regularly. I find so much joy working from the house.
Working from home can certainly be a challenge. I stick to a specific schedule which helps keep me motivated and productive.
Are you a City girl or a Country girl?
I’m a just-outside-of-downtown type girl. Having lived on Nob Hill in San Francisco all through college and a couple years after, I’ve become very sensitive to true city living. I love having a little outdoor space.
While I love the energy city living has, Austin is perfect for us because we’re centrally located, in a totally walkable neighborhood, and less than 10 minutes from downtown.
